*A first-hand account of a journey to the gold mines in California by Englishman William Kelly [1791-1855]. This is a reissue of the first volume of 'An Excursion to California over the Prairie, Rocky Mountains, and Great Sierra Nevada' published the previous year. It records interesting information on how the waggon trains worked, as well on the scenery and wild life.
