Charles Richardson [1806-1871] architect, was a pupil of Sir John Soane. 'Richardson is chiefly remembered as a pioneer of the Victorian appreciation of Tudor and Elizabethan architecture and as an architectural draughtsman and collector of architectural drawings' Oxford DNB. This volume, the first of his works on early English architecture has eighteen plates illustrating the features of Claverton near Bath.
