The Child's Own Book for 1841.
TRACT.

12 wood-engraved plates and other woodcut illus. in text, index; 192pp.

The National Library of Scotland has an 1844 edition from this series. The bookplate has printed at foot the instruction: 'This book must be kept clean, and returned the Second Sunday after being issued'. The Union chapel was formed as a result of a small group of Anglicans leaving the parish church of St Mary's to worship with non-conformists. In 1806, their own chapel was built in Compton Terrace and called the Union Chapel. The minister from 1804 to 1852 was Thomas Lewis. Eventually the Anglican part of the congregation declined and it became a Congregational chapel.
