*Well-produced book similar in layout to the first English trade edition, with a scholarly introduction. Apart from a limited edition, this would appear to be the first hardback edition for nearly forty years.

*This is the abridged version of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" edited by Lawrence himself. Having incurred large costs following the private publication of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom", Lawrence wrote this highly readable account of the Arab revolt for the general public. When he had earned enough to pay his debts, he ordered Jonathan Cape to cease printing.

*A beautifully produced book, well-laid out, and containing the reproductions of the marvellous series of portraits by Eric Kennington, Will Roberts, Augustus John and others. All but six of these plates had to be pasted in by hand. This edition was published within two month's of Lawrence's death. There were two previous editions, both privately printed. The total complete copies from those editions were less than two hundred.
