This is the abridged version of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" edited by Lawrence himself. Having incurred large costs following the private publication of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom", Lawrence wrote this highly readable account of the Arab revolt for the general public. When he had earned enough to pay his debts, he ordered Jonathan Cape to cease printing.
